Just as a clarification (in case anyone is trying to track these folks
down), Floyd Swink passed away in 2000 and Gerould Wilhelm no longer works
for the Morton Arboretum.
Unfortunately, both of them were treated rather poorly by the current
director. Floyd was named 'taxonomist emeritus' at the Arboretum in 1995;
unfortunately, that also meant that he was no longer on payroll.
Gerould was asked to move on, so in 1996 he became the Director of
Environmental Services for the Conservation Design Forum in Elmhurst,
Illinois.
It's a shame. Having worked with Floyd and Gerould at the Morton I
have tremendous respect for everything that they contributed. The Morton
holds a special place in my heart, but lately I think that it's lost sight
of its original mission.
There's more information about Floyd Swink and the book "Plants of the
Chicago Region" at

Chris (who apologizes for the soliloquy)
