Be careful what you wish for - think of the precedent youre setting here
If we give you back the h in herb, next thing you know heir and honor will demand the same thing. And you know that from there its a short leap to pneumonia, knife and knock wanting their first letters back too. Once the firsts get theirs, its only a matter of time before words like often and handkerchief want their silent letters back too. Where will it end? With the words ending in a silent letter, such as climb and thumb, demanding their rights! Chaos! (pronounce that "h"! :)
