Re: European Horticultural zones
In part to help educate British gardeners on the USDA system, and to
help in a small way establish it as an international system, I used
the USDA hardiness zone ratings in the British edition of my recent
Encyclopedia of Perennials. There is a European hardiness zone map on
the front endpapers and a worldwide map on the back endpapers. (The
US edition has a US zone map and a heat zone map). The coldest area
in France and Spain is the high Pyrenees, zone 6.
The map was produced by the mapping department at the publishers.
