Re: blogs and scrapers
Speaking of blogs and scrapers... you might want to check out
http://gardening-blogs.emoondo.com/
There were quire a few gardening blog articles there in their entirety
- and I'm pretty sure some of folks on this list were there. Pass the
word along to your friends - but not on your blogs or you'll give the
guy a ton of traffic. :-) I've already fired the first shot in the
dmca takedown of mine.
And just for your own info - there's a very simple way to get notice
of this kind of thing. I have a wordpress plugin that puts a
copyright line on the bottom of every post. This is not removed by
general scraping so a simple google alert with the topic
link:yoururl.com will pull up any sites that scrape my posts.. Simple
and google does all the work. You can do something similar with the
link: command manually for your url but the google alerts does it
automatically for all my sites. For those who haven't tried this -
the command is a google operative and if you enter link:anyurl into
the google search box, it will tell you who's linking to that url.
