Re: Gardens On Skype

Hi all,

I have done a couple of Skype events kind of like what CL was talking about.
I have a page on my website I can send people to for more info:

http://www.amystewart.com/virtual.html

Walking around the garden with a webcam in hand can be tricky--the webcam
has to be attached to a laptop, of course, and the laptop has to be
connected to a good reliable wi-fi internet connection. Having said that,
it would certainly be possible to be sitting in the garden and maybe even
pointing to things (or inviting a chicken to sit in your lap!) as you talk.

A couple of groups have taken me up on this, but many garden clubs have a
hard time with the technology. Libraries and universities can handle it,
though. I'm doing one next month with a college class that read one of my
books.

Cheers,

Amy Stewart
