Can anyone advice me on reasonable/appropriate fees to charge landscape designers who would like their projects photographed? Do you bill hourly (if so, do you bill for downloading, processing, and burning disk time?), by the project, or how? I've worked with magazines and book publisher, but not on assignment in that sort of capacity. Many thanks for help/advice.

I have been photographing designers' work for a few years & what has worked for us is charging for a half or full day, with a half day being closer to 5 or six hours. We start either early in the morning or mid afternoon. The rate is higher than magazine editorial rates, but lower than advertising rates. Only you can determine what your time and skill are worth. I put all the images onto a web gallery & they choose the ones they want to have as high and low resolution files. I then sharpen, color correct as necessary only the ones they choose & charge them a per image processing fee for those & send them a disc with these images as both high and low resolution. It seems to work well for these clients. Occasionally one will want all the images, some designers take only a few.
I hope this helps!
