Re: iPad to Word
Andrew and all,
I know this is blasphemy...but I am not a iPad...iPhone or "i"
anything...I'm a PC...AKA android lover. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S3 and
I love it!
I just bought an red ASUS Transformer pad TF300 (android) and an easily
DETACHABLE keyboard. You buy them separately...total around $600. So, it is
a tablet and/or a notebook. They have an included app...I admit I haven't
tried it yet, called Polaris that is billed as compatible with MS Word in
both directions.
LOVE my ASUS! It is the same size as the iPad (which as an android/windows
person I hate. Used one for over a year...YUCK!) and far more user friendly.
It has a two sided decent camera...turn-by-turn GPS...good clarity...gorilla
glass...Quad core processor (=fast) and backlight that can be adjusted for
daylight! The battery, with the keyboard attached lasts 13-15 HOURS! I don't
have to charge it daily. It also has a memory card slot!
I use it for reading...research...maps...movies and I hope writing and
camera (when I don't want to bring both).
I'll let you know if the Polaris app works (it handles Excel and PowerPoint
also I think!)
It is never more than a few inches from my hand!
Just my 2 cents...

I've recently become a multi-platform garden writer. I've been writing my
column in MS Word for eons and even though I now work on a Windows desktop
and Apple MacBook Pro I'm able to move my Word docs around with ease and
archive them in Dropbox.
But I've just added a keyboard to my iPad (Logiteck Untrathin is very
cool) and now I'd like to be able to compose my column or other documents
on the iPad since its really easy to travel with or take out into the
field.
Just wondering if anyone does this and what software or app you use as a
word processor that can then be moved over to Word. I don't need anything
that's feature rich as the only formatting I do is paragraph style, margins
and line spacing.
So...anyone conquered this yet?
Thanks
Andrew
