Andrew, I don't think so. 
The box stores won't sell them if they can't get them. The growers who supply the box stores won't grow them if they won't get paid for them. Thanks to VMI and PPBS -- Vendor Managed Inventory and Pay By Scan -- they won't get paid for them if they die on the box store's benches or if customers come back for refunds. 
Unless there are a few mega-growers out there in some magical IDM-free zone, we're in for an Impatiens drought for a while. It'll be interesting to see what's on those benches instead.

Big Boys being places like the orange box?  Bet they continue to sell  lots 
and lots of impatiens at really cheap prices.  But wouldn't it be nice  to 
walk in and see a sign explaining why they won't be selling impatiens this  
year or at the very least warning customers of the dangers.  Oh,  
sorry...was just fantasizing.
