Re: shrub rose


Looks like it's an historical synonym that was applied to an original white 
 rugosa rose found in Japan.  Seems ramman in Japanese is translated to  
'blooming profusely'
 
I couldn't find anything in my rose references or classical garden  
references.   Maybe someone else on the list has other  resoruces.
