Re: Hawaii bound

Andrew --

If you do get to Maui....

Hubby and I were thrilled to see the Haleakala silversword in bloom inside
the volcano. It was 25 years ago, but still vivid in our memories! We were
told at the time that it is the only location on earth where it grows.

I was born and raised in the tropics and expected Hawaii to be similar to my
island. I was wrong! Seven-foot-high poinsettia "bushes," for instance. And,
yes, "miles" of pineapple and sugar cane plantations.

But, of course, things may have changed in 25 years.

Enjoy your trip and let us know how it goes! ~ Hilda
