Re: plant names


I agree with everyone here. Of course, it's different if I'm writing for Proven Winners. They want common names capitalized the same way shown on their website. However, in magazine and article writing, I never capitalize common names even when they are also the botanical names. 

For Oklahoma Gardener, my editor asks me to use the botanical name first and then the common name in parenthesis. Every magazine seems to have its own style.
