Southern India is called “The Soul of India” for good reason. It is a land
of scenic wonders, a treasure house of rich cultural heritage, beautiful
traditions and captivating history. Come to southern India with us to see
vibrant cities, palaces and temples, tea and spice plantations, tribal
villages and dances, botanical gardens and rare flora and fauna. The
Western Ghats where we will be traveling are a UNESCO World Heritage Site,
considered one of the eight "hottest hot-spots" of biological diversity in
the world.

Highlights of the two-weed itinerary include stays at two award-winning
luxury eco lodges; vehicle safaris into Nagarhole National Park, where the
ecosystem supports the highest density of herbivores anywhere in Asia;
nature walks; a coracle ride on the Kabini River; a visit to Ooty,
nicknamed "Queen of the Hill Stations" by the British who retreated into
the cool mountains to escape the summer heat; a journey over the rugged
mountains to Coonoor on the toy train (Nilgiri Mountain Railway); an
overnight tour of Kerala's beautiful backwaters on a local houseboat; and a
performance of the extraordinary Kathalkali dance.
