I see a dichotomy brewing here - differences between American English and UK English.    The latest American dictionaries allow words that would leave Brits like, totally clueless. :-)
Is there an English Professor in the house?
In short, we'd better take this somewhat lightly or there are going to be a lot of hairs split.

OK...here's one for the experts.  Which is correct and why?  I used to garden or I use to garden?  Think about it though.  I suspect it's not as easy as it looks.  No wise guys answers like "I once gardened" are acceptable.
