[GWL]: author review of final copy
In my opinion, quality publications send a final version of every edited
article to the freelance writer for review before going to press.
Period.
Publications generally know their press times weeks/months in advance,
and this is an era of phone, fax, and email. If "there is no time" for
author review, it is because the publication chooses not to make time.
Publications that care about quality and accuracy make the time. I only
work with publications that allow authorial review.
