Bill -- I think the problem is that how you grow something depends so
much on where you are growing it. You wouldn't grow salvias, for
example, the same way in North Carolina as you would in
Massachussets, Arizona, or Southern California. So when you have
growing information, it is only best regarded as guidelines or
suggestions and it appears that many folks shy away from such broad
generalizations...
