    What I often used to do on landscape jobs was I'd buy flats of the
larger sized plugs from wholesalers. These work perfectly well if the soil
is well prepared. You get many more plants for the money than you would
using six packs or four inch. Often, too, the end results from plugs, is
actually better than it would be from packs.
    Look for a nearby grower of annual plugs. Plug growers will also air
mail the plugs to you, which is sometimes quite affordable, especially if
you're putting large areas into color. Look in the back of American
Nurseryman magazine, or in the back of something like Grower Talks magazine,
for sources.
