Re: [GWL]: Vine for north wall

I suggest a climbing hydrangea (Hydrangea anomala spp. petiolaris), which has
white lacecap flowers in summer that stay on the vine well into winter...a
friend of mine in Indianapolis has dried flower heads on the plant at
Christmas each year. The plant also has an attractive exfoliating,
cinnamon-colored bark. It takes three to five years for the plant to get
established and begin flowering, but is well worth the wait.

If it's a help, I'm zone 5 bordering on 4 and my petiolaris has proved hardy but very, very slow growing. And my soil is good. Most other things grow quickly and very large for me.
