urea - a stinky subject

Hi again...is anyone an expert on this subject? Is urea a 'chemical by-product', or a component of urine, which I assume is not a 'chemical'. Help, please, from a Science major (off-list, please) This is about whether soil can possibly be considered 'organic' - a huge bugaboo around here - there is really no such thing, as far as I can gather.

Thanks
