Re: A Summation On Japanese Beetles

I think there is one problem with Jeff's presumptions why his neighbors had JB problems and he didn't.  He assumes that it was his environmentally favorable lifestyle. It could be but could it be possible that his neighbors were growing plants that attracted the beetles and he wasn't?  We often get calls from homeowners who have insect problems (such as alder bug infestations in the fall) and their neighbors never have had the problem.  It usually turns out that there's a plant in the landscape that's an attractant to one property and not to the next.  The same hold true of Japanese Beetles and that can often explain the hit and miss infestations.
 
As we often hear our Senators and Congresspeople say...I would hate to cast doubt upon my esteemed colleague but...
