Don't wait for your muse to start your creative juices flowing, take the
plunge and dive into garden writing in this four-day intensive course.
Immerse yourself in the inspiring gardens of Longwood and learn from
garden authors and writing instructors Cole Burrell and Lucy Hardiman.
Grow your writing skills, find your writing voice, and learn about word
trees. Cole and Lucy will share their thoughts on how to build your
reputation, find inspiration, choose a subject, how to edit your work,
and what it takes to be published. This class is presented in
cooperation with Horticulture Magazine.
Instructors: C. Colston Burrell is a garden designer, photographer,
naturalist and award-winning writer. An avid, lifelong plantsman, Cole
is the author of several books. He serves as contributing editor to
Horticulture, and writes regularly for Fine Gardening, Landscape
Architecture, American Gardener. Lucy Hardiman is past president of the
Hardy Plant Society of Oregon and her garden has been featured in
numerous publications. A popular lecturer, teacher, and author, Lucy is
a contributing editor for Horticulture, pens a column for Northwest
Garden News and writes for Fine Gardening and Pacific Horticulture.
