They certainly pose a tremendous danger to the world's food
supplies, and to traditional methods of life and of farming
in many countries. 

I oppose "terminator crops" on those grounds - I think you
could call them 'social grounds'.  They make the farmer
utterly dependent on (surprise!) large, often multinational,
corporations.
