Re: Re New Year's Day Plant Count
No snow here! I do have globe gilias in bloom (a native annual that
usually blooms in the spring, but since I water mine, I get blue
flowers year-round and have shared seed and plantlets far and wide);
a few grindelias; a hummingbird sage just finished blooming; the
penstemon has a few stray flowers; the violas from the nursery are
fighting off the slugs; and the raspberries that I haven't yet cut
back are still sending out rare flowers. Though my tomatoes have long
since frozen, at my neighbor's house, the tomato I planted for her
last spring in a pot is still trying to ripen one last tomato, and it
has a few flowers, too!
