Another source are the SBDCs (Small Business Development Centers).
Helping people put together a workable business and marketing plan is the
main task of the SBDCs (I did this for eight years). In New Jersey, every
county is served by a specific center, although some may serve as many as
five counties. They are usually associated with a state university. There
is no charge (you already paid for it through federal taxes). For those
who are not rank beginners on the business side, you can also get
one-on-one counseling on specific issues.
