Re: green roofs
I see Ed Snodgrass (a.k.a. The Snodfather) is speaking at the GWA meeting at
the Phila. Flower Show. He definitely knows his stuff.
A local nursery, Creek Hill, got a contract to grow Live Roof panels (Dave
McKenzie's brand) this past summer for a public building somewhere near Phila.
The Live Roof system grows large panels, like giant plug trays, with a very
dense substrate and lots of Sedum. I'd love to see how they get those panels
up to the roof; they're quite heavy and not terribly rigid.
Lancaster County is looking to add green roofs to half a dozen public
projects in the next couple of years, with state and federal funding help.
**************Start the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape.
