Winter Conferences and Green Announcements

To the list:

This list-serve is a tremendous way to get out the good news about
meetings, gatherings and networking opportunities.

You should all be aware of three great gatherings coming up:

	1. ANLA Management Clinic. It's the first time that they've taken
up the issue of sustainability after Bill McDonough's opening Keynote last
year. It should be an awesome conference. February 8 through 11 in
Louisville KT. Check out the program on www.anla.org

	2. PLNA/Penn State Winter Conference. February 12 through 13 in
State College PA. We have nine garden writers delivering about 16 sessions
of the 45 session, 5 track program. It's all about sustainability. Check
out the program at www.plna.com. I'm delivering the opening keynote. Plus
we have Rick Darke, Ed Gilman, Penny O'Sullivan with her new book, Suzanne
Wainwright Evans (a.k.a. "The Bug Lady") Jeff Lowenfels, Robert Berghage,
Lorna McLaren, Hannah Mathers, Scott Burk, Stephanie Cohen, Chris Hansen,
and Richard Bitner. These are all along with many other speakers and
networking opportunities.

	3. The Philadelphia Flower Show is the largest GWA Regional meeting
by a substantial margin. Check out www.theflowershow.com. Last year we had
close to 300 writers, exhibitors and vendors attending the breakfast. This
year's education session is all about sustainability. We've got a great
line-up of speakers including: Jane Pepper from PHS, Penny O'Sullivan, Ed
Snodgrass, Steve Hutton from Conard/Pyle and Maitreyi Roy from
"Treevitalize." The meeting brochure and registration information is on the
GWA website at www.gardenwriters.com.

I hope to see you at one and all!

Kirk R. Brown
