We had a .msn e-mail address for a few months about 5 years ago 
before I had so much trouble I cancelled it.  Or thought I did.  Dh 
and I have a LAN, and he has admitted receiving mail through .msn 
years later, so it may have contaminated my computer as well.  I have 
gone into the remove programs portion of my computer and removed 
every reference to msn i could find.  But I have at times still been 
accused of having a .msn address.  Other times they just tell me my 
earthlink address, that I've had for over ten years,  is already in
