Re: Future of Newspapers
The really scary thing is that polls/studies are showing that many people now prefer to get "news" that conforms to their own views. They don't want impartial and balanced. Sigh.
Off-topic but I have to say that Phoenix -- where we are this week, refugees from New England's snow and cold -- is delightful in January! :-)

A little late on this topic, but there's an interesting editorial this
morning at the Halifax Chronicle Herald on this very subject. http://thechronicleherald.ca/Opinion/1101573.html
.. This will only be online for a week.
Dan makes some good points. I've always respected his editorials even
when I don't always agree with them, but this one I agree with through
and through. It's a message that needs to be stressed. Too many people
are turning to uncredentialed sources of information for their 'news'
and other information. One of my biggest annoyances is a site called
Associated Content, where every Tool, Dork and Scary can write
'articles' (most not even corrected for grammar and spelling, let
alone fact checking) and be 'published' online.
