Re: Newsletters / Catalogs

The reality of my world is both hardcopy and digital are a
necessity. My monthly newsletter is free to subscribers and it resides on my
web site. Reality... all actually pay for it is a cost in determining final
price of the plants I sell. It does cost money to have a company set up and
mail out the text and photos for the newsletter each month. And, it is not
cheap... electronic or no. Cheaper than hardcopy, yes.
I still write, print and edit a hard copy catalog. My figures show
about an equal balance of purchases between on line and mail. Close enough
that we still go through the time and cost of the hard copy. The combined
cost comes close to equaling the cost of inventory. Guess who pays? Reality
once more.
Another reality. Not everyone is well educated, adventuresome and
young. Last I saw figures about 51% of adults are on the internet and
active. To take an elitist position of let the other 49% eat cake is, in my
opinion, not a smart business move.
Second day of a new year and we here at Munchkin Nursery & Gardens
look forward to serving all who knock on our door, wood or virtual.
