Re: recommend a chain saw?


While reading the threads on chain saw advice I wonder how  many of you 
have written about chain saws and chain saw safety?  It's a  great topic and 
one which your readers may appreciate hearing more about.   I think the vast 
majority of home gardeners go out and buy one not knowing how  dangerous they 
can be.  They're actually great tools when treated with  respect but 
there's a great opportunity to teach chain saw safety, how to choose  the right 
saw, how to maintain the saw, choosing the right chain,  sharpening it and the 
correct methods for cutting.  Nothing quite as  embarrassing and or as 
dangerous as having your 14 inch saw bind on a 24 inch  tree trunk where it 
remains until you get a larger saw to saw it  out.
