Free e-books from MS

If you're looking for summer reading on yee olde computer, you might want to browse to

http://www.microsoft.com/reader/promotions/free_shop.asp

Microsoft in conjunction with Overdrive is giving away a free ebook each week all summer. (I just downloaded "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" - one of my all time favourite reads.) :-)

The "catch" is that you have to use the MS reader to read the books but as this is becoming one of the ebook standards, you might already have it. The other is that you have to sign in with a MS passport which means you have to register with MS. Again, no biggie as I used my "alternate" email address (note it has to be valid) :-)

If you're thinking of doing ebooks, then you'll likely want to explore this offer as well at www.overdrive.com for their approach to this growing trend.
