Endorsement Question

I've got a book on indoor gardening coming out at the end of the year, and
I've been asked by the publisher to check into getting endorsements. I
would like advice on gathering endorsements. Do you just gather them from
people in the industry that you've spoken to before, or do you approach
people you've never approached? If the book is on indoor gardening, would
it still be okay to get an endorsement from someone who does outdoor
gardening? This book covers a topic that hasn't been covered before, so
I'm trying to figure out who would be the best people to approach. Any
advice/past experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
