Editors are under tremendous pressure these days from their superiors and 
publisher to generate revenue, cut costs and draw writers.  The critera 
changes daily, it seems at times.  We won't even talk about the pressure 
advertisers exert.  So....it's understandable that editors often change 
their goals.  The publishing world has become a tough place in which to work 
and turn a profit.
