Late Blight Outbreak

According to an article in AP, late blight has hit, and hit hard. Tomato
plants have been pulled from the shelves of big box stores in New England
and New York. Late Blight has been characterized as the Bubonic Plague of
the plant world.
When it hit Georgia a decade ago, it wiped out many farmers
in a matter of days. I was working for Extension then, and when we left for
the 4th of July holiday, gardens were thriving. It started raining that
weekend, and when we came back to work, the phones were ringing off the
hook. Farmers were crying, saying that it looked like somebody had sprayed
used hot motor oil all over their fields.

I've gathered some references if you'd like to help spread the word.
