The Late Show Gardens
Fellow List Mates - By now I am sure some of you are well aware of
The Late Show Gardens, a new garden show kicking off its first year
Sept 18-20 here in Northern California. "Where brilliant design
meets sustainable practices". http://www.thelateshowgardens.org
Publicity is already in several of the national magazines and Garden
Design, the sponsor, is running a contest in the current issue.
I am now on the Board of this event and my first official action is
to get garden writers to know about and hopefully come to the show,
if not this year at least get the word out about what should be an
important ongoing event for gardening. Other garden shows give away
free passes, why not The Late Show Gardens? If you can not use the
free passes but can write about the event, we can still give you
passes. Perhaps use them for a blog contest. I know first hand from
the photo contests we run at Gardening Gone Wild, (http://
www.gardeninggonewild.com), that contests build readership.
Yes, this offer is a blatant attempt to get media exposure, and those
of you who can't be bought are just the ones we want to influence.
It's gonna be a great show and it is about time a garden show
pampered to the sustainability crowd. And let’s get the term
“sustainable” to mean something - like water conservation, reducing
pesticides, material re-use, and wildlife habitat.
Check out the line-up of speakers and designers, support the work.
http://www.thelateshowgardens.org Believe me, it is a labor of love
and not a profit motivated endeavor. Hope to see you there - and in
Raleigh a week later.....
