Re: Tomato transplant problem


Of course, putting it in the compost of any sort is ludicrous. The  
point is the average beginning gardener doesn't know this and doesn't  
recognize problems. Most don't even know they can be helped at their  
local extension office. In this case had I not gone into his studio I  
would not have known of this. I am really annoyed that plants are  
coming into our area with root knot nematodes. This indicates the  
grower is not using established sanitary practices such as fresh  
potting soil, growing pots benches or growing on garden fabric so  
there is a soil barrier. This is an avoidable problem!
