Re: Japanese beetles - GWL

I don't have any hard data either, but my experience with neem against Japanese beetles -- and this was 12 years ago in another state -- was that it was much more effective as a preventative than as a control.

If I began spraying roses and other plants that always attract the beetles about a week or 10 days before they usually arrived -- and continued at intervals -- it seemed that I had far fewer of them, or sometimes they bypassed my yard entirely.

But if I waited till the pests were present, neem had little effect in my garden.

Just an observation in one location for about three years till I moved to where -- hooray! -- I didn't have to bother with Japanese beetles.
