Re: San Francisco area gardeners question

You might recommend the your friend pick up a copy of my first book, California Gardener's Guide vII. Its written for the whole state, including San Francisco and lists many many types of flowers that could be grown in buckets. After all, what is a 5 gal nursery container if not a 5 gal bucket with holes in it?
