Re: Info for Quebec trip, please


Having just returned from international travel (funny that Canada is International) I might suggest that you contact your credit card companies and ask what their foreign transaction rates are - that's a fee they add on for converting the purchase from Canadian money to American money.  Some charge as much as 3% others 1%.  I found one card that has NO foreign transaction fee (and no annual fee either).  Its the Andrews Federal Credit Union Global Trek card which is also a chip and pin card.  Chip and pin is the more secure credit card thatthe  the Europeans prefer (and in some cases, only accept).

Doug, is Canada doing the chip and pin credit cards?
