Re: Downunder plants


Tony Fawcett, I'm not aware of any Australian plants that are growing 
outdoors in New England, but I think that some Californians are not delighted 
by some of the Eucalyptus that grow so vigorously there.  However, I enjoyed 
clambering onto one that had fallen across a stream in a suburb of San Fran 
when Eisenhower was in office.  Some Eucalyptus is grown in the mildest parts 
of the US for flower arrangers.
 I suspect that there are people who would like to grow Proteas in the 
backyard.  They cost a lot of money from the florist.
