This is Nertera granadensis, also known as the bead plant. It's from Mexico and for many years it was only seen in the orange-fruited form; the other colours are, I think, relatively new. In Michigan it's definitely a house plant!

Dear Garden Writers: I just ran into something with Nurserymen's Exchange I haven't experienced before. I emailed then asking for the identification on a plant being sold locally with a "Nurserymen's Exchange" label on the plant. You can front and back of the label and the plant here: http://www.plantcollector.us/IDNEEDED/pincushion1.jpg http://www.plantcollector.us/IDNEEDED/pincushion2.jpg http://www.plantcollector.us/IDNEEDED/pincushion3.jpg They emailed me back saying they just grow it as a proprietary plant and have nothing to do with nomenclature! This is one of my major pet peeves -- not giving the public the proper Latin name for a plant. The only plants coming up as "pin cushion plants" in the search engines are Sabiosa species. This is definitely not one of those plants. Can anyone here help me identify this plant? It has just arrived locally and is being sold for the outrageous price of $7 considering the plant has no proper name listed. No one here seems to know what it really is and they are actually following directions to plant it as a "ground cover" in a Michigan garden! YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!! I just may use this incident in some articles to educate my readers about the purpose of those horrible "Latin names"! In the meantime, can someone here help me figure out what this plant really is? I tried feeling the tiny leaves but my partially numb fingers aren't letting me even tell if the leaves are succulent or more like a baby's tear leaf. Thank you in advance for listening to my Pet Peeve and helping me id this plant.
