Yes, it COULD end up anywhere, but the point is that it SHOULDN'T.
It's only a matter of common courtesy and good Netiquette to ask
permission if you want to repost a message (or partial message) from
this listserv to another group, or on another web site.  Otherwise,
members should be able to trust that what's said to this group will
remain within this group.

If they can't; if every time you want to post to this list, you have
to wonder if your comments will be published elsewhere, then
discussions will be less spontaneous and honest.  If we're a virtual
"group of friends or people with a common interest sitting around
talking," as Duane said, then let's treat each other like friends and
respect the privacy of other members' posts.
