Re: Knockout roses and overwintering
Well, here on Cape Cod - a warm zone 6 - the Knockout is a knockout. They get full and bushy and bloom all summer. On Main Street in Hyannis they've planted Knockout in large containers all down the street, and they've sailed through two winters even in these large pots set on the side walk - they're in full bloom now and are beautiful. I've never seen anyone protect them for the winter. Perhaps they do well for us because most people garden in sand, so the winter drainage is fantastic.
