Lorraine - You should be able to ask for a DVD copy of the segment directly from the producing station.

Subject: [GWL] Help With a Technical Issue

Hi, Everyone!

Had the good fortune to get on TV Monday night for a 2 minute blurb about my self watering container conversion. TV spot was reasonable although I wouldn't have framed it the way they saw it -- as a water conservation measure (part of the Green is Universal NBC-wide program).  But all publicity is welcome.

I TiVoed the broadcast and they re-run the segment on Saturday morning when I will have the chance to catch it.
They have a live web broadcast and of course I get another TiVo opportunity.  While I work on getting a release from NBC, here are my technical questions:

1.  How do I get the TiVoed segment from the hard drive of my TiVo box to a CD (which of course I can then work with in multiple ways)?  I can get that TiVo segment to a tape maybe, at best;
2.  How do I record the live broadcast on Saturday morning directly from my computer to a CD or DVD which I think my desktop can do? I've never attempted any of that before so I have a few days to practice on other live broadcasts. This isn't the best alternative since the broadcasts are grainy and the audio is out of synch, but something is better than nothing.
