To my knowledge, there are not two separate groups. I think that originally (correct me, GWA people!) that GWA was the Garden Writers Association of America. Or not. In any case, some may now refer to the Garden Writers of America thinking that this is what GWA stands for. 

There is just the GWA - Garden Writers Association - as far as I know.

Hello list members,

Some time ago I posted a question about wanting to know the difference
between Garden Writers Association and Garden Writers of America. I was told
there would be an upcoming article in the Quill & Trowel but I suppose the
idea was either dropped or forgotten about. I also emailed Carol Ledbetter 5
days ago and asked her for a follow up to my question, I got no reply.

If anyone here can address my concern and explain the difference between the
two organizations, it would be much appreciated.
