Re: Perennials low-maintenance, switching to Roses?

Lorraine, I have talked to other rose folk at garden centers who agree, the Easy Elegance roses are tops. I'm wondering if the Knockouts have been somehow compromised. Word in the trade is Rainbow Knockout does not measure up. Last year I started a bunch of Drifts bare root and they are doing well. A little black spot does not noiter me out, but if a rose de-leafs, it's out of here. I have half a dozen Griffith Buck roses that put in a stunning display this spring.

I mix shrub roses and purple leafed shubs in my perennial beds. Love the look and it's an easy care mix with perennials.

Now that Jackson and Perkins has gone belly up and Conard Pyle is no longer growing roses, the entire market may change dramatically.
