Miranda Smith

It is with sorrow that I write, Miranda Smith passed away yesterday at 11:35 
p.m.  She was well cared for until the end by her daughter, Simone Lepage, 
and son, Tagore Smith, at her daughter’s home in College Station, Texas.

She was a member of this listserv.  Many of you knew Miranda or knew of her 
passion for the environment and organic gardening.  She wrote numerous books 
on many gardening topics.

Her companion in life, John Roger, kept Miranda's friends informed of her 
rapid demise from a lung tumor only discovered in March.  He wrote this 
several days ago:  "In the last two years she and I have gone many places 
together.  Now we are walking toward a bridge only she can cross.  I am 
saddened, but I am joyful to to have known her."

I will miss Miranda greatly.  I'll post later any info on the service or
