Re: Rain Gardens
The University of Rhode Island has an excellent 32 page download that I
often suggest. You can find it at
_http://www.uri.edu/ce/healthylandscapes/home.rgmanual.pdf_
(http://www.uri.edu/ce/healthylandscapes/home.rgmanual.pdf) . This is one of the best and
most comprehensive (and free) resources that I know of. Rutgers
University also has a shorter 4 page download that can be helpful as well at

I'm the chairman of our town;s wetlands commission...one out of every
three properties in Bedford (NY) has wetlands so we see lots of applications.
I think about a third of all the applications include rain gardens as
mitigation in order to satisfy state requirements to control run off that is
caused by Federal enabling legislation to control storm water runoff.

Can anyone recommend some good books, websites or blogs on rain
gardens? A couple of years ago, there was a program on rain gardens
at Garden Writers, but the bottom line was the finished product was
little more than a garden plunked in a front lawn containing
a few native plants.
