Re: norfolk island pine

This was me last year. I had a tree that seemed to be having problems,
but then started doing very well. It had huge well-formed branches and
had had a growth spurt twice in the same year. After summering it
outdoors, I realized there was no longer anwhere inside our house where
it would fit, unless I started tossing out furniture.

It was about 6 ft tall and nearly as wide. I repotted it, bought it a new
cachepot, and gifted it to an arboretum 35 miles away. We rented a large
van to move it there. Even transporting it at an angle, it barely fit
inside. My husband constructed wooden braces to prevent it sliding around
and we gingerly tied up some of the branches to the uprights inside the
van. I considered the $100+ we spent to move it a donation and was
thrilled that not only had I given it to someone who would take care of
it, but also to someone who knew how to take care of it.

Regards,
Lois
