Woodchucks I drive several miles away and release. I once caught a skunk by 
mistake, and after an interesting personal interaction, I released him back 
into my garden.

What I don't think has been mentioned here is that in many (most?) areas you 
can borrow, free, a Havahart trap from the Humane Society.
