RE: PC to MAC Conversion

Sheri, I upgraded to Windows and got on the internet just as I was 
finishing my plant breeding book.  Some people at Chelsea Green had Macs 
and could not open my Word files.  Others had older IBM clones and older 
Word and couldn't open my Word files either.  Everyone could open a file 
from me if it was in RTF, that is Rich Text Format.  RTF preserves 
formatting, but is compatible with more "platforms," that is, different 
types of computers and operating systems.

To convert from Word to RTF in Word2000, just open your document and 
click on "FILE."  In the File menu, click on "Save as."   A box pops up 
inviting you to give the file a name and to indicate a format.  Click on 
RTF format.
